I’m learning to oil paint and this is my first real attempt.
It’s been on my wall for a while (months now) and is really textural.
I’ve grown attached to it after looking at it so long.
These two are back up in my store. :)
Hello! For those of you who missed it, but are wondering:
My store is back on!
I’ve left my previous prices up and I will be putting up all of my new work with the updated pricing system.
And for the weekend, any orders will come with your choice of a tiny skull or a tiny crystal print, on your choice of BRK Rives paper or fabric. (The plates are 2 x 1 inch.)
Anonymous said: When are you going to start selling your prints again? I had my eye on a few and I finally have some money to spare...
Hi anon! Thanks so much. :)
I have my store open again right now.
I havent changed prices of what’s up because I don’t like the idea of that.
When I get around to putting new work up, it will be with my new pricing system.
If you have a print in mind that’s not there, go ahead and email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There’s a few that I have taken down temporarily.
But seriously, again, thank you so much for your support.
That means a lot to me!
August 3, 2014 UPDATE:
I am in the process of moving right now, and all of my art is packed up and inaccessible.
So for that reason, I have shut my storenvy off until mid-September.
All recent orders have been mailed already though!
So if you have ordered something and not received it by the end of this week, please let me know.
During this down time however, a few things are going to change.
I am working on new packaging, new business cards, and an overall new look to really brand myself and my work.
I am going to be posting new work, including paintings and framed prints, as well as some craftier book art, journals, sketchbooks and kits.
Lastly, but also importantly, the way that I price my work is going to change.
After doing significant research on how to appropriately price art and crafts I have settled on this formula:
labor + materials + over head + profit = wholesale
wholesale x 2 = retail
I know that will make the prices much higher.
But I think it’s important that I start valuing what I do more.
I know my store has been going downhill for a while and is full of really old work.
So hopefully, now is a good time to really turn it around and do a better job for myself, my work, and for other artists too.
